The buildings are located in Davagh Forest Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty on the edge of Cookstown within the Mid Ulster area of Northern Ireland. Davagh Forest Park boasts one of the ‘darkest skies’ in Ireland. The site is a rich landscape of substantial archaeological and cultural significance including Beaghmore Stone Circles and has a history which spans millennia.
The Glamping PODS are a part of the same family as our visitor centre and observatory located in the same park.
We have developed the PODs to pick up on the irregular nature of the park and landscape. The buildings are intended to be sympathetic to their surroundings in both form and material selection. The timber facades will soften over time and the grey timber will be a subtle architectural marker in the landscape.
